Web Interactivity

When it comes time to build a website it’s crucial to know the importance of interactivity in the web design process. Interactivity can be defined as the dialogue that occurs between a human being and a computer. Interaction within a website crucial to keep users coming back because it gives the user a sense of affiliation. The article I examined for this blog, “New Web Trends: immerse interaction style”, gave me great insight about different ways to raise the level of interaction on a website. The article relates to internet communication perfectly because we are in the process of building websites and it gives tips on how to do so correctly and effectively. It also gave me great insight about the animation and transition side to creating a website. Such aspects as animated notifications, revealing information, and collapsing forms and menus can be seen as interactive to the user. I think that the best way to measure web activity is to focus on the many aspects of the website and the easiness of the functions used. The article also covers a term called Webgraphics and how it can be used to measure interactivity. It measures user activity by performing an action in route to getting access to a full story. This action could a simple click or other actions such as typing in a word. When users perform this task it keeps track of the amount of clicks received. I think this process would be very beneficial when creating a website because it gives instant feedback of the amount of users viewing different aspects of the website.
